Whitsell Innovations, Inc. employees will participate in a Service Day through A Lotta Love at Families Moving Forward of Durham, NC.
Whitsell Innovations, Inc. (WI) is please to announce the Company will participate in a half-day of service through A Lotta Love at Families Moving Forward on January 25, 2018. Founded and run by Lotta Sjölin, A Lotta Love’s vision is to create a dignified experience for women and children transitioning through homelessness back into society, by updating and maintaining spaces that house people. Families Moving Forward is a shelter in Durham, North Carolina, providing families with children housing during the temporary crisis of homelessness.
WI employees planned, purchased supplies, and gained approval for this half- day service project. Thirty-six WI employees will come together and roll up their sleeves to decorate, design, and paint, transforming several spaces at Families Moving Forward. In addition to painting the main hallway and creating a Durham skyline-inspired mural, the multi-purpose room will be updated to make a more cheerful and inviting space. WI will also design and create toy and book carts so that items can be easily transported throughout the shelter. Other employees will refresh a residence suite to make the space more inviting for the family that needs it. In addition to the employee time, WI donated the funds needed to pay for all these projects.
Stephanie Cain, MBA, Operations Manager at Whitsell Innovations, Inc. is leading the planning of the service project with a goal to make it both fun and impactful. “It is such an honor to continue our partnership with A Lotta Love at Families Moving Forward and plan such a special day,” says Ms. Cain. “I am truly thankful to my Company for sponsoring this event and for everyone agreeing to donate their time and energy. I am sure this day will be rewarding and successful.”
